Moonrite Amazons

"Just as maidens who go through the Moonrite never emerge as the same girl, the Moonrite is not unchanging. Every woman who comes through the door of the Red Tent leaves her mark on these walls and in these words, she lends her voice to the song that we sing and the stories that we tell. She becomes a part of this magic, and this magic becomes a part of her." - The History of the Amazon Sisterhood

Every woman who has entered the Red Tent and been through one of our Rites of Passage is welcomed into the Amazon Sisterhood. We are Crones, we are Maidens, we are Mothers – and we are Sisters. We are a network of strong, empowered women, of many different spiritual paths, who work together to provide a variety of intense rites and rituals to encourage and teach each other as we go through the joy, hardships, and Mysteries of being a woman.

There are a million things that must be done to keep these Rites of the Sisterhood going - everything from guarding the gates of the Red Tent during the night, painting the Warriors’ tabards, working together to create new rituals and experiences, or simply being there to welcome and congratulate your Sisters as they enter a new phase of their life!

An Amazon can be any woman who has been through any Rite of the Sisterhood. This includes not only maidens who have been through the Moonrite, but mothers and grandmothers, too! If you're interested in helping out in any way, either big or small, please contact Aly at amazons@girlsmoonrite.org
